2018-2023 Jeep JL High Clearance Rear Bumper

Packaged great, fast shipping. Pretty easy to install. If you’re going to use your tow hitch, pick a different bumper though. You won’t be able to get to the plug easily if at all.

Installation was very easy, requiring only 8 bolts- 6 factory and 2 supplied by DV8. The instructions are easy to follow and show everything you need to know. The only sub-standard part of the install was the Park Assist sensors and the Mopar adapters to fit them in the bumper. They don't fit snuggly in the bumper holes very well and require something to hold them in place. After laying the bumper face down on a workbench, I stretched out the factory wiring harness and discovered it is too short to reach one of the sensors in the middle of the bumper. This required splicing a length of wire from the harness to that sensor. This isn't a big deal if you are comfortable splicing, soldering, and sealing the splice against moisture, just be aware, if you have park assist and want to keep it, this will have to be done. There isn't any way to secure the harness to the bumper, so I laid it face down and laid a heavy bead of urethane caulk across the underside of middle step portion. I pushed the harness into the caulk and then ran another heavy bead on top of the harness, and then blended the 2 beads together embedding the harness into it. I also ran a couple more small beads across the inside of the bumper where I felt the harness needed to be secured, and around the park assist sensors to hold them in place more securely. We then waited a couple days for the caulk to cure before installing it. We also purchased the license plate relocate kit which mounts to the top of the bumper on the drivers side. The factory harness wires for the light will also need to be spliced, and wire added to reach the bracket. It does come with it's own light, but the wires are short. All in all, we are very pleased with the look and how the install went. A great addition to our build!
