The DV8 Offroad TCGL-01 Gladiator Tire Carrier relocates the spare tire to the bed of your Gladiator, with no drilling into the bed required. This carrier mounts to existing locations and is rigid enough to support up to a 42-inch tire.

The carrier allows for 2 easily adjustable tire positions. The first places the tire at a 45-degree angle, the second puts the tire parallel to the bed and allows use of the area underneath it to haul extra cargo or gear.

The carrier is rigid enough to support the tire in either position while on or off road. It also comes with 2 HD gas shocks which make raising and lowering the tire a breeze.

FEATURES:

  • Adjustable tire carrier with 2 mounting positions
  • Gas shocks to assist with moving the spare
  • Universal mount design allows for virtually any bolt pattern or center bore
  • Easy install with no drilling required

Good but awful instructions

Took about 4 hrs to install (thankfully I found another person's YouTube video to walk me through it). The 6 step instructions provided are crap.

If you have a spray in bedliner be ready to hammer it into place after you drill out the bottom brace bolt hole. There is no way it fits without both.

If you plan to use the furthest outside bolt holes you'll need to buy your own washer and nut to secure it.

As for the movement with a 38" tire on both pins on the sides require another person to help lift it up before you can pull them back to raise it up.

There is an opportunity in front of the tire (toward bed) for other storage. It would be nice if DV8 would solution a hijack mounting system for the top of the support arms or would integrate either a trail rail or mollie panel between top and bottom. Inended up cutting down and DIY a solution to use that space.

Hey Brooks,
Thanks for the feedback, this will be analyzed by the R&D team!

Gladiator tire carrier

Instruction are vague but pretty self explanatory, lower brace bolt holes didn't align with the bed holes but overall nice tire carrier.

Overall Quality Piece

I believe this is an overall quality item. For me it does fit very tightly into the bed of the gladiator so there was sufficient use of a rubber mallet.

The bottom mounting bracket did not line up appropriately with the factory holes in the bed. The openings in the bracket aren’t quite wide enough and the bracket covers the threaded factory mounting location. I had to widen the holes in the bracket about the width of the bolt in order to make it work.

Did have a couple of small places missing powder coat as well.

I do think it would be better if the instructions included information about the hardware at each step, however once you get the hardware set out and you start working on the install it becomes fairly common sense where each bit of hardware should go.

It’s a nice item and feels very rigid. I’m happy with it at this time. Haven’t felt, noticed or heard any vibration with the tire in either position. The pistons supplied are very strong.

As advertised

Good quality, except have a issue with one of spring pin latches, hard to operate and does not want to engage, have not had tie to trouble shoot.
Also could do better with hardware placement in instructions.

Ok

I had this installed in April of 22. One of the shock absorbers has already died, poor quality bolts, washers are rusting, paint chips everywhere. I have not used the bed for anything but carrying the tire. It's been stood up and retracted about four times total. It's functional but it's not great quality. Vehicle has been on two off-road excursions since, and the vehicle always stays inside will not be in driven.
