2021-2024 Ford Bronco | Capable Bumper Slanted Front License Plate Mount

The DV8 slanted-mount license plate mount for the Bronco capable bumper arrived quickly and all the parts were included. The items were exceptionally well packed -- there wasn't much risk of damage in shipping with this product, but I understand this is typical protection for DV8. I read the instructions and it seemed quite straight forward. I was a little worried given the reviews from others that modified their mount in order for it to fit. No modification was necessary for me. My Bronco is a Badlands Sasquatch, and it has the steel front bash plate. I tried to install the mount without removing it, and that wasn't going to work. Once I removed the bash plate the process was easy and quick. I left one of the 13mm bolts in place so that I could hang the mount from it. That helped as the mount is quite sturdy/heavy. Then I held the opposite end in place, threaded the 13mm bolt I had removed. I went back and forth between the two 13mm bolts, tightening them up as equally as possible. DV8 estimates that install time to be 30 minutes or less and I found that to be true, from opening the box to putting the tools away at the end, this was no more than 30 minutes.

Wanted to keep the look of the front but need to put on a plate. This was exactly what I wanted. Easy to install on Bronco with capable bumper. Best to take off the skid plate - makes it much easier.

Overall finish was excellent. However, the bracket as shipped did not fit without some modifications. I had to take it to a local fab shop (at my expense) to modify it a bit so it would slide into place. After the fab work, it was installed and now fits and looks good. When I called DV8 about this issue, the shop foreman said that he was aware of the issue. That being said, why offer it for sale on your website if you are aware it won't fit as provided? Hence the 3 star rating.

Like the product but had to modify in order to fit. I have a 2023 Bronco with Capable Bumper. There is a hard plastic cooling unit just above the place this product mounts and the main strip of metal of the part that you hang on the loosened bolts needed to be cut down 1/4” (to accommodate the cooling unit) to be able slide up far enough to hang on the bolts. This is because you have to get it high enough to slide over the notch to hang it on bolts. I don’t know if this is something that changed with the 2023 version of the Bronco or not but I post this to help others or so the manufacturer to can make some changes.

My only other comment would be that, although the instructions are simple and it’s obvious how this thing is installed but the the Allen wrench sizes and box wrench sizes are incorrect in some steps, but easy enough to figure out. Again, I post in hopes manufacturer will make corrections in order for this project to be the best it can be.
