I really wanted to give it 5 stars, but there were a few very minor things that make me take a star away. Other than those things (noted below), I think this is the best looking, best functional bumper for my '24 Colorado ZR2 that I researched. It looks great, and adds to the stance and appearance of my front end; doesn't detract from it. I compared (just through profile pics on sites) the front profile of each of the different winch bumpers, and DV8 had the best clearance and profile appearance to me. Others looked (and were) bulkier, and stuck out further (i.e. less approach clearance). I'm very happy with build (solid, clean welds and lines) and finishes (all parts powder-coated have a professional finish). And overall, everything fit really well together. And I feel like the price point was just where it should be, and honestly less than the competition's and their (IMO) inferior products. I honestly couldn't be happier when I compare them to the competition, but below are the couple of minor things I either struggled with when installing, or am still trying to resolve now.
First, there were some details in the instructions that left me scratching my head both before the install (I read through the entire instruction several times before I installed), and during the install. Like references to M8 hardware when it should have been M6 hardware. Granted the hardware was in the kit, but trying to get things to fit that didn't fit were a little bit of a pain. This was only once or twice, and was minor. Other areas where it was obvious that an OEM shroud was cut back in order for it to fit (seen in the picture), but not pointed out in the instructions. Seems minor, but when you're lifting 150+ pounds(?) of bumper, winch, and lights to hang it, you only want to do it once. Not have to drop it to cut shroud and put it back up. So just minor things like that. Otherwise, instructions are very, very helpful.
Second, I think it could've been pointed out (maybe my fault for not thinking of it earlier) that the whole bumper construction and winch/light install portion of the install could be done previous to getting the truck ready for install. I received the kit on a Wednesday, and I was planning on installing it Saturday. I could've built the bumper and installed the winch, pod lights, and light bar Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday night and had that ready to do the install much faster on Saturday morning.
Lastly, After the install was complete, I've had a minor fitment issue. Could be my truck, or could be the bumper; I'm not really sure as I'm still trying to diagnose it. Alignment is slightly off from left to right. The grille slightly touches on the left and bumper hangs out past the grille slightly. Maybe just 3/8-1/2" past grille. On the right, bumper aligns with the grille flush, but touches the bumper much more. So much so that I feel like it might be pushing the grille slightly up, and affecting the way the grille fits at its original body line with the headlight and quarter panel. Like I said, I'm still trying to work that out by adjusting the angle of the bumper "wing" on that side, but it's kind of hard to do after installation, and I'm still working on it. This is minor. Other people won't notice it, but me, as a detail-oriented owner who installed it myself notices it. I'm sure I'll get it sorted out, and again, I don't know if it's my truck or the bumper yet. I do know that I didn't have any issues with the body lines before installing the bumper.
Other than those minor items, this is a great, great bumper and I think DV8 has hit the mark with it. Hope this helps others. Thanks!
